Do you cater for special dietary requirements?

We know everyone’s different and we want to make sure an enjoyable experience is had by all, so simply let us know what dietary requirements you have and we’ll do our best to help. All requests must be made at least 72 hours prior of the cruise date, as all food is prepared in advance, with no surplus kept onboard.

Are there non-alcoholic drinks available onboard?
​
Of course! For those not partaking in the fizz experience, there is a plentiful supply of tea, coffee and water available free of charge and soft drinks available to purchase.

Can we bring our own alcohol?
​
Yes you can for a small corkage charge per bottle.
​
What if we don’t drink all our fizz?
There are 2 options… Donate it to the Skipper or take it home with you to finish later.

What does the minimum charge mean?
​
So that you and your party may have the exclusive use of the Fizz Boat a minimum cruise charge may apply. Smaller parties are always welcome onboard, however a small surcharge may apply for bookings of less than 4 people

Can we order extra food on board?
​
Sorry no, as we do not have catering facilities onboard so all food must be preordered at least 72 hours before your trip date

What if we don't like fizz?
​
WHAT!!!!! Seriously if you don't like fizz then don't worry, we have beer and soft drinks but we may be able to arrange an alternative alcoholic beverage should you wish, just have a chat with us.

Do you have a fully stocked bar with beers, wines spirits etc?
​
We primarily serve fizz and will have a plentiful supply of your choice on board you can pre book this in advance to take advantage of our prebooking discount. We will have extra Fizz on board too!

What is the English Sparkling Wine/Champagne upgrade?
​
All our cruises include fizz, usually prosecco, but there are some amazing alternatives such as fabulous English Sparkling Wines from local Devon vineyards or of course traditional Champagne and so we have this available at a small upgraded cost for our house champagne or you can specify your preferred Champagne which we can source and agree in advance.

What is your child age for food and drink?
​
Children are welcome on board and will be charged a child rate of a minimum charge of £20 per head depending on the particular cruise up to the age of 12 years old. Children under 3 can come on board free of charge. All children are included in the maximum passenger numbers of 12.

Children under the age of 18 are not permitted to drink alcohol on board and soft drinks will be available.
​
What's included in the cruise price?

Our cruises offer remarkable value as you have exclusive use of our boat for you and your party, a fully qualified Skipper, a host, your chosen Food Sharing Board and at least 2 glasses of Fizz (or alternative) per person.

When does the Fizz Boat operate?
​
We operate every day throughout the year, so long as the weather permits.
What if it rains?
No need to worry! The Fizz Boat is well equipped to cope with the British weather. Once inside our modern boat we guarantee you’ll stay warm and dry.
What if I feel sea sick?
Because we operate only within the confines of the river, despite being tidal, it tends to be fairly calm. Most people get their sea legs very quickly once the fizz is flowing.

What if someone in our party can’t come on the day?
These things happen! Our suggestion would be, rather than let the place go to waste, as it will have already been paid for, why not bring someone else along to fill the space.

Can we bring our own music?
Yes of course. We have Bluetooth speakers onboard, simply connect your device and the music is all your choice.
​
Does the boat go out to sea?
​
No, our license doesn’t permit this. We operate anywhere between Dartmouth Castle and Totnes, tide and time permitting.
​
Are children allowed onboard?
​
Children are welcome onboard as part of your group. Adult supervision is required at all times and we carry appropriate child safety equipment but we do need to know how many children are coming in advance of the cruise date.

Are dogs allowed onboard?
​
Absolutely, we are dog friendly, as we know our four legged friends love the river just as much as we do. We have water bowls but you need to make sure your dog is comfortable with the confined space available and that your guests are all happy with dogs onboard. It goes without saying of course that they must have been toileted prior to the cruise. Please let us know in advance should you be bringing dogs onboard.

Is there a toilet onboard?
There is one toilet onboard for the convenience of passengers and crew.

Is the boat safe?
The Fizz Boat is a purpose built, bespoke trip boat, brand new in 2019 and fully compliant with all relevant safety regulations and carries a range of safety equipment.
​
How easy is it to get on and off the boat?
Coming onboard is no more difficult than walking up or down a few steps, don’t worry, our crew will be on hand to steady and assist you. If you think you may have any accessibility issues, please let us know in advance.

Can I have a go at driving the boat?
For everyone's comfort and safety, as well as our insurance requirement, only our skipper is permitted to drive the boat.

Does the boat have heating?
We have warm air heating onboard to keep the boat at a comfortable ambient temperature in all weathers.

Do you have disabled access?
​
We want everyone to be able to enjoy the fabulous Fizz Boat experience so please let us know any accessibility issues and we will do our upmost to facilitate getting you onboard.
General
Do you require a deposit to book?
As we get very busy and dates are in demand, a 25% of the quoted cruise price (minimum £50) non refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. The full balance must be settled at least 7 days in advance of the cruise date. Any cruise booked within 7 days of the due date will be paid in full. Our full booking terms and conditions are available via the link. Any additional extras can be paid for onboard.

Are gift vouchers available for Fizz Boat cruises?
Gift vouchers are available to buy for part or full cruises, just drop us a message and we will sort it out.
